80 to 100 bucks for a wine glass is pricey, but by no means unreasonable if you’re looking at one of Riedel’s high end offerings. However, it’s a bit much for Costco stemware—except in this case, we’re talking about a wine glass that’s four feet tall.
That’s right, Costco is selling a ginormous wine glass. To be exact, it’s only 46 inches tall. The big box (emphasis on big) retailer marketed the glass for decoration, not drinking. Still, that hasn’t stop winos everywhere from fantasizing. (More on that in a sec.)
The glass sells for $79.95 and $99.99 when ordered online. Customer satisfaction appears to be pretty high; 15 of 17 customers gave the product the highest rating, five stars, on said website.
Of course, the true brilliance of an oversized glass is the photo-ops and social media potential. For starters, Twitter is blowing up with references to the “Inside Amy Schumer” skit Football Town Nights which features the comedienne imbibing from a massive vessel.
However, there are far more creative routes. Some of our favorite images of the stem from #GiantWineGlass hashtag follow.

But why Costco? Why? Is a 46.4″ tall wine glass even necessary?? 🍷😂🤣😂🤣 pic.twitter.com/5ZGU03Iur3

In case your coffers are a little low this year, don’t worry. Some detective work revealed that CostCo added these glasses to their inventory last fall, only to yank the product after Christmas ended. Likely, the item will be a recurring a seasonal special.
