Dandelyan Delights With Spirited Sweep


Debating the world’s best bar is like debating the best daiquiri recipe. There is no real answer. However, it doesn’t hurt to try. On Saturday night, the movers stirrers and shakers of the cocktail world gathered in New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktails‘ annual Spirited Awards ceremony. London’s Dandelyan at the Mondrian led the pack, snagging prizes for Best International Bar Team, Best International Hotel Bar, and World’s Best Cocktail Bar.

Stateside, NYC’s NoMad Bar took home Best American Bar Team and PDT’s Jeffrey Bell was named American Bartender of the Year. The always affable Dave Wondrich was honored as Best Bar Mentor and Charles Schumann received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners were voted on by two panels of over 100 industry experts, led by Charlotte Voisey (Chairperson), Jacob Briars (International Judging Committee Chairman), Paul Clarke (Writing Committee Chairman) and Brooke Arthur, Bridget Albert and Derek Brown (U.S. Judging Committee Chairs).
