Campari Picks Up A Pair of Rhums

By Neat Pour Staff |

The Campari Group’s latest move is more sweet than bitter. The Italian spirits conglomerate just added some rum to the portfolio by acquiring Rhumantilles SAS.

Rhumantilles SAS owns 96.5% of Martinique’s Bellonnie & Bourdillon Successeurs. B & B is best known as the parent company of Trois Rivières and Maison La Mauny. Both rums, while relatively unusual in the US, enjoy a large market share in France.

A Campari spokesperson valued the deal at €60.0 million.

Last year, Campari purchased Grand Marnier and increased their footprint in France. The rum acquisitions are expected to increase that presence.

The deal is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2019 according to a release.
