Blanton’s Newest U.S. Release: Straight From The Barrel

By Neat Pour Staff |

Brace for another round of debate followed by some secondary market shenanigans. Buffalo Trace Distillery announced that Blanton’s Straight From The Barrel (SFTB) will be available in the United States this fall.

A release explained that SFTB will be annual, limited release. The new expression will utilize the same mash bill and process as original Blanton’s, but the juice is bottled unfiltered at barrel proof—like the name states.

“Blanton’s continues to be one of our most sought after bourbons,” said Kris Comstock, senior marketing director. “Fans in the U.S. have asked us to make Straight From The Barrel available here at home, so we’re happy we’re able to accommodate that starting this fall.”

Neat Pour hasn’t tasted Blanton’s Straight From The Barrel yet, but we did receive some official tasting notes. “Dark chocolate, caramel and butter with earthy undertones of walnut and hazelnut on the nose,” the marketing materials touted.

“The palate delivers intrepid notes of warm vanilla, oak, toasted nuts and a rich spiciness with hints of butterscotch or honey, with a deep and resonate finish.”

For people that care about these type of things, yes, the new SFTB will feature collectible tops with individual letters spelling out B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S.

MSRP is $150… if you can find a bottle at MSRP. For more info on Straight From The Barrel, check out www.blantonsbourbon.com.
