The gin maker’s newest offering, ‘Hendrick’s High Wheel’ is a stationary ‘penny farthing’ bicycle. (For readers who are not up-to-date on cycling history, the penny farthing was an early cycle popular in 1870’s; you might recognize them as those old school cycles with one giant wheel and one small one.) The Hendrick’s version is intended to be a throwback, low-tech response to the likes of the Peloton.
- Base Spirit Gin
- Preparation Stirred
- Flavor Refreshing
- Served On the Grapes
This drink blends two of the best “Something & Tonics” into one drink that gets better over time (much like Luke in the Bacta Tank after being pulled out of the Taun Taun). In this Nick Detrich Star Wars inspired creation, frozen Ruby Port soaked grapes keep the drink cold and slowly bleed both flavor and color into the beverage.
- Mix gin and tonic in a glass.
- Add frozen grapes.
- Fill a cryovac bag with as many grapes as you can fit.
- Pour in port to cover.
- Seal and freeze the entire bag.
