Michael McIlroy of NYC’s Milk & Honey helped usher in the Cocktail Renaissance with his Greenpoint, a variation of the Manhattan. So, it’s only fitting that his past coworker at M & H, and current partner at Attaboy, Sam Ross also created a Manhattan (technically a Brooklyn) riff honoring a BK neighborhood. The Amaro Montenegro brings a nice touch of bitterness to the familiar flavors of the rye.

Check out all of Ross’ recipes in his app. You can find other Milk & Honey favorites in Regarding Cocktails by the late Sasha Petraske.

The Hendrick’s version is intended to be a throwback, low-tech response to the likes of the Peloton.

Obviously, the apple-base makes Calvados a perfect fit for an autumnal, harvest feast. However, the spirit is not to be dismissed as a novelty. Simply put, Calvados is one delicious drink. The familiar flavor profile of the fruit makes the brandy more approachable than many peers. Strict French appellation contrôlée regulations guarantee that the product is well crafted.
