  • Preparation The Rest
  • Flavor Boozy

London’s Dukes Hotel was a favorite haunt of author Ian Fleming, and is said to be the inspiration for James Bond’s spirituous preferences. Here is the iconic Dukes Martini. Please note that it is neither shaken nor stirred.

It’s also not light on booze. Dukes serves a both a 6oz. and 3oz. version. The smaller version follows. Scale up at your own risk.

  1. Make sure that your martini glass is real cold, frosty cold. While you're at it, Dukes likes to keep their vermouth and gin on ice preparation also.
  2. Rinse the glass with vermouth.
  3. Fill the glass with gin. Don't measure; it's not the Dukes way.
  4. Also Don't stir.
  5. Garnish.
