Cherry require a cold season for germination which means that they do not grow in tropical climates. In the Northern Hemisphere, they blossom in spring and reach peak harvest during the summer. In the Southern Hemisphere, cherries blossom in late summer/early fall and hit peak harvest around Christmas time.
