Backstory: Plymouth is the closest to an AOC that England offers. All Plymouth Gin must be distilled in Plymouth, England. Today, only the brand of the same name, Plymouth Gin is distilled in the town. However, at the peak of the Empire’s glory, Plymouth boasted many distilleries supplying cosmopolitan clients including the British Royal Navy who traditionally used Plymouth’s Navy Strength gin to christen new ships.
